From 2004 to 2016, Joe managed technology projects for disaster-affected and marginalized communities in Central African Republic, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Dadaab Kenya, Liberia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, and South Africa. In 2022, days after the Russian invasion, Joe started Springstone Consulting to rejoined his NGO and UN colleagues in support of the N50-led Ukraine Crisis Response, More recently he supported projects in Kenya, Uganda and Morocco.

Farm & Rescue
Joe purchased Springstone Farm in May 2012. He started a local honey and egg business and began to rescue neglected animals, providing sanctuary, rehabilitation and forever homes.
